Setting Up Your Email Client with POP3 and SMTP


This article provides step-by-step instructions to configure your email client to connect using POP3 and SMTP to mailhub24.boltonsmith.cloud. These instructions are applicable to most email clients, including Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, and Apple Mail.

Prerequisites:

  • Email Address: Your email address provided by BoltonSmith Cloud.
  • Password: The password associated with your email account.
  • Mail Server Information:
    • Incoming Mail Server (POP3): mailhub24.boltonsmith.cloud
    • Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): mailhub24.boltonsmith.cloud
  • Ports and Security:
    • POP3 Port: 995 (with SSL/TLS)
    • SMTP Port: 465 (with SSL/TLS)

Instructions:

For Microsoft Outlook:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook on your computer.
  2. Go to File > Add Account.
  3. Select Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.
  4. Choose POP or IMAP and click Next.
  5. Fill in the following information:
    • Your Name: [Your Name]
    • Email Address: [Your Email Address]
    • Account Type: POP3
    • Incoming mail server: mailhub24.boltonsmith.cloud
    • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mailhub24.boltonsmith.cloud
    • User Name: [Your Email Address]
    • Password: [Your Password]
    • Check Remember password

  6. Click on More Settings.

  7. Go to the Outgoing Server tab and check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.

  8. Go to the Advanced tab:
    • Incoming server (POP3): 995 - Check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL/TLS).
    • Outgoing server (SMTP): 465 - Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL/TLS.
  9. Click OK, then Next, and Finish.

For Mozilla Thunderbird:

  1. Open Mozilla Thunderbird on your computer.
  2. Go to Tools > Account Settings.
  3. Click Account Actions > Add Mail Account.
  4. Fill in the following information:
    • Your name: [Your Name]
    • Email address: [Your Email Address]
    • Password: [Your Password]
  5. Click Continue.
  6. Click on Manual config.
  7. Fill in the server settings:
    • Incoming:
      • Protocol: POP3
      • Hostname: mailhub24.boltonsmith.cloud
      • Port: 995
      • SSL: SSL/TLS
      • Authentication: Normal password
    • Outgoing:
      • Hostname: mailhub24.boltonsmith.cloud
      • Port: 465
      • SSL: SSL/TLS
      • Authentication: Normal password
  8. Set the username for both incoming and outgoing to [Your Email Address].

  9. Click Done.

For Apple Mail:

  1. Open Apple Mail on your computer.
  2. Go to Mail > Add Account.
  3. Select Other Mail Account... and click Continue.
  4. Fill in the following information:
    • Full Name: [Your Name]
    • Email Address: [Your Email Address]
    • Password: [Your Password]
  5. Click Sign In.
  6. Click Next when it says it can't verify the account name or password.
  7. Fill in the server settings:
    • Incoming Mail Server:
      • Account Type: POP3
      • Mail Server: mailhub24.boltonsmith.cloud
      • User Name: [Your Email Address]
      • Password: [Your Password]
    • Outgoing Mail Server:
      • SMTP Server: mailhub24.boltonsmith.cloud
      • User Name: [Your Email Address]
      • Password: [Your Password]
  8. Set the incoming server port to 995 and check Use SSL.
  9. Set the outgoing server port to 465 and check Use SSL.
  10. Click Sign In.
