Multi Factor Authentication

*See Important Notes at bottom

Once MFA is turned on, the next time you go to login to Office 365, you will see the following message. Click on next.

On the next screen you will be asked for method of contact. “Authentication phone” is the default and the one we have chosen to use to receive your passcode by phone or messaging.

Next choose your country and enter the phone number you would like to receive the code to. Then choose how you would like to be contacted. (Text message, phone call) Click Next.

At this point you will either receive a text message or call supplying you with a 6 digit numerical code (i.e. 223344) enter it into the box and click Verify.

You should then see the message “Verification successful”. Click done and O365 will open.

The next time after this when you login, you will be asked to enter a code again. At this point though before clicking verify, you can check the box “Don’t ask again for 60 days” and you will not be prompted for a code again till after the 60 day period.

*Important Notes:

·       This only affects Office 365 and phones. This does not affect Network Users with login credentials that login and use the Outlook program on a computer.

·       You must enter your code and check the 60 day box in Office 365 first before updating phones and other devices.

·       If you use more than one browser (i.e. Chrome, Edge, Firefox) you will have to do this for each one.
