How to setup a Softphone

Before you begin you will need to:

Have VPN access to your office network OR be connected to the LAN.
Know your Phone Server IP address.
Know your Extension, Username & Password.
Ensure that your extension has been authorized by BoltonSmith for Softphone use.

When opening the ticket, please provide us with your Extension Number.

How To Set Up a Softphone for your Mac

ONLY after you have the above information start with the instruction below.

Start by downloading X-Lite for Mac.
Once the program has been installed, open X-Lite 4.
Click X-Lite 4 in the top menu bar between the "Apple" and "Edit" and go to Preferences.
Click Accounts and edit the first account in the list by double-clicking.
Account Name: BoltonSmith.
Use For: Call.
General:
- User ID: Your Extension.
- Domain: Your Server.
- Password: Your Password.
- Display Name: Your Name.
- Authorization Name: Your Extension.
Press OK and it should login.

Once the program has been installed, open X-Lite 4.
Click Softphone -> Account Settings.
Account:
- User ID: Your Extension.
- Domain: Your Server.
- Password: Your Password.
- Display Name: Your Name.
- Authorization Name: Your Extension.
Press OK and it should login.
