How to setup a Softphone

• Have VPN access to your office network OR be connected to the LAN.
• Know your Phone Server IP address.
• Know your Extension, Username & Password.
• Ensure that your extension has been authorized by BoltonSmith for Softphone use.

• When opening the ticket, please provide us with your Extension Number.

How To Set Up a Softphone for your Mac

• Start by downloading X-Lite for Mac.
• Once the program has been installed, open X-Lite 4.
• Click X-Lite 4 in the top menu bar between the "Apple" and "Edit" and go to Preferences.
• Click Accounts and edit the first account in the list by double-clicking.
• Account Name: BoltonSmith.
• Use For: Call.
• General:
  • User ID: Your Extension.
  • Domain: Your Server.
  • Password: Your Password.
  • Display Name: Your Name.
  • Authorization Name: Your Extension.
• Press OK and it should login.
