How To Add an Extension

Warning

Adding an Extension may result in additional fees depending on your license.
Make sure to use a complex password.
Make sure to use the permit field to restrict access to the extension (see below).
If an extension is exploited you are responsible for any calls made. If you are unsure about the extension security please open a ticket.

Login to your UCS.
Click Extensions.
Select Generic SIP Device from the drop-down menu then click Submit.
User Extension: Enter a unique extension number (increase in increments of 5).
Display Name: Full Name of The User (this information will be added to the company directory).
Outbound CID: Caller-ID Name <1234567890>
Secret: Password for the Extension **Always use a complex password to prevent an attack**
Status: Enable/Disable (determines whether this extension will have a dedicated voicemail).
Voicemail Password: Password for Voicemail
Email Address: Email Address for Voicemail Delivery
Email Attachment: Yes
Click Submit.
Click into the new extension.
permit:
- Remote Access: 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
- Office Network: 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0
